Leader's Workshop: Leading Lean Software Development with Mary and Tom Poppendieck March 17-18, 2011:

posted Dec 3, 2010 6:20 AM by Catherine Louis

After the Agiletour in RTP I've been thinking that we (our collective AgileRTP user group) need to reach out more to our leadership community in the RTP area.  (In other words, and perhaps not a surprise: we have not adequately been hosting events, training seminars, etc. for the Agile Leaders as much as we have been catering to our many grass-roots practitioners!)

And so: for our software and product development leaders in the RTP area - this one's for you!!

I've invited Mary and Tom Poppendieck to deliver their jam-packed 2 day session. The course will be held March 17th and 18th. Location will be "in the park" (hotel is tbd, I will post the info here however.)

Registration and information can be found here.  Early Bird rates will be offered until end January, so get them now while they last!

Save the date! October 28th, 2010
Where:  Research Triangle Park Headquarters: (see map of headquarters here.)

We're taking over the RTP headquarters on October 28th, 2010 for an Agile "Pro"ference (because there will be nothing "con" about this event!)

The web page for this event is in progress and will be available shortly. Once we have the official site up I'll send out an update. Meanwhile I wanted the early-bird registration and list of great sponsors we've secured to get out there, so here goes:

Speakers to include (and this isn't the full list!):
  • Andy Hunt, author of The Pragmatic Programmer with his talk titled "Best of Wetware"
  • Jeff Patton, deeply committed to practices emphasizing successful product outcomes and user-centered designs, he swill discuss Story Mapping.
  • Mary Lynn Manns, co-author of "Fearless Change"
  • Tom Grant, Senior Analyst at Forrester with his talk titled "Agile Doesn't Always Improve Innovation!"
  • Test Goddess Dawn Cannan, working with Costa Rican development partner Franz Pereira sharing their remote- Dev/Test pairing demonstration.
  • Dr. Laurie Williams Associate Professor NCSU with her talk titled "After All These Years, What Does It Mean To Be Agile"
  • Raj Mudhar, local business leader with his talk titled "The trajectory of change (a.k.a. I hate change - Not!)
So as you can see this is becoming a one-day Agile "Pro"ference including both local Agile leaders, as well as industry greats!

The early bird event registration is available here.

And a big thanks to our RTP Agiletour key sponsor Pillar for Zach's time on the upcoming web page for advertising this event!!

Please plan on the coming, and see you there!
